Water accompanies the entire production process of handmade fluorescent watercolors.

From preparing the binder and combining it with the pigments to filling the pans and allowing the paint to dry, water remains part of every stage. Although the same binder system is used as in handmade honey watercolors, long-term observation shows that fluorescent pigments develop differently during production.

The same binder does not produce identical results

Long-term documentation shows that using the same binder system does not necessarily lead to the same production behavior.

The characteristics of fluorescent pigments influence the working conditions throughout production, allowing each color to develop its own material behavior. Even when the production method remains consistent, the observations recorded during the process continue to differ from one pigment to another.

Observation therefore extends beyond the formulation itself and includes the behavior of the pigments.

Water remains an important part of observation

Water continues to be an important condition throughout the production of handmade fluorescent watercolors.

When less water is present, some colors may develop surface cracking during production. When more water is present, certain colors may require considerably more time to complete the drying process. These observations do not occur equally across every fluorescent pigment and are therefore documented individually over time.

The focus remains on recurring observations rather than fixed production rules.

Every fluorescent pigment develops differently

As more fluorescent colors are documented, additional differences become visible.

Although these colors belong to the same series, individual pigments continue to develop their own production characteristics. Each documented color therefore contributes another observation rather than repeating an existing one.
