Do Internal Cavities in Handmade Honey Watercolor Paints Affect Performance?

Some handmade honey watercolor paints may naturally develop internal cavities

During the long-term production of handmade honey watercolor paints, it has been observed that some colors may naturally develop visible internal cavities of different sizes.

These cavities form during the filling process, natural drying, and the gradual solidification of the paint. They are part of the paint's internal structure and are not intentionally created.

They do not appear in every color or every batch. Different pigments, material systems, and drying processes may result in different internal structural characteristics.


No noticeable effect on normal use has been observed

Based on many years of production and continued material observation, no noticeable effect of internal cavities on the normal use of handmade honey watercolor paints has been observed.

During normal activation with water, color loading, and painting, no clear changes have been observed that can be attributed solely to the presence of these internal cavities.

These observations are based on long-term production records and continued practical use.


Internal cavities do not indicate changes in the material

Long-term material observations indicate that visible internal cavities do not automatically mean that pigments, gum arabic, honey, or other components have changed or separated inside the paint.

Instead, these cavities represent one type of internal structure that may naturally develop as the material dries and solidifies.

To date, no noticeable changes in painting performance have been observed that can be attributed solely to these internal cavities.


The presence of internal cavities does not predict painting performance

Long-term observations show that the presence or absence of internal cavities does not necessarily correspond to the painting performance of handmade honey watercolor paints.

A paint with a more uniform internal structure does not automatically perform better, while paints containing visible internal cavities have not shown noticeably different performance based on current observations.

For this reason, the internal appearance of the paint alone is not sufficient to evaluate its practical performance.


Different colors may develop different internal structures

Every pigment has its own material characteristics.

As a result, different handmade honey watercolor paints may develop different internal structures during natural drying. Some colors appear more uniform inside, while others may naturally develop visible internal cavities.
