My journey with VHaquarell

Hello, I am Victoria Hilbrecht , founder of VHaquarell – and my journey into the world of colors began in my childhood.

From an early age, I've been fascinated by colors and their endless possibilities for expressing emotions. My artistic path led me from China to Germany, where I fell in love with making handmade watercolors. But watercolor is more than just color—it's an artistic movement, an expression of freedom and individuality.

Each of my paints is crafted with the utmost care, inspired by nature, my passion for art, and the desire to provide other creatives with tools to realize their own vision. Whether honey watercolors, metallics, neon, or chameleon colors —my paints are for all those who want to create something unique with their art.

With VHaquarell, I not only want to offer high-quality paints, but also inspire artists to let their creativity flow and experience art in a new way.

Art is more than paint on paper—it is emotion, expression, and a mirror of the soul. I've always been fascinated by how colors can tell stories. But when I arrived in Germany, I was missing something: watercolors with unique effects, like those I knew from Asia . Colors that shimmer, glow, and change, that capture the light and transform it into magical reflections.

At the same time, it bothered me that many industrial paints are made with chemical additives—artificial, synthetic, and often far removed from the purity that watercolor is supposed to embody. I wanted something different. Something that captured the essence of watercolor—soft, delicate, flowing—but without harmful chemicals, without unnecessary additives.

With my passion for research and innovation, I embarked on a long journey of development. I experimented, tested, and combined—always with the goal of creating the ultimate handmade watercolors . Colors that are not only vibrant, but also sustainable and environmentally friendly.

After years of dedication, VHaquarell was born – a collection of handcrafted paints inspired by nature, developed for artists seeking something special . Each color tells its own story, each pigment blend is the result of countless trials until perfection was achieved.

Our mission at VHaquarell is to provide artists with colors that are more than just pigments on paper – they are an expression of emotion, creativity, and individuality.

We believe that art in its purest form should be free, fluid, and authentic . That's why we craft our handmade watercolors with the utmost care and attention to detail, without unnecessary chemical additives. Our goal is to create colors that are not only environmentally friendly, but also intensely bright, vibrant, and unique .

With each of our colors, we want to inspire artists around the world to develop their own style, to experiment, and to enrich their works with effects that are not available commercially.

Kunst im Herzen: Die bewegende Geschichte von Victoria Hilbrecht

Persönliche Einleitung:

Mein Name ist Victoria Hilbrecht. Ich erblickte das Licht der Welt im Jahr 1991 im malerischen Xinjiang, China. Schon als Kindergartenkind begann ich, meine kreative Ader durch Comics und Kunstwerke zum Ausdruck zu bringen. Die lokalen Zeitungen und Zeitschriften waren die ersten, die mein Talent bemerkten und es als Bestätigung meiner aufstrebenden Künstlerkarriere veröffentlichten.

Frühe Inspiration und Bildung:

Während meiner Schulzeit in China entdeckte ich die faszinierende Welt der japanischen Mangas und Animes. Meine Leidenschaft für diese Kunstform brachte mir zahlreiche Auszeichnungen und lobende Erwähnungen ein. Mein Traum, Künstlerin zu werden, wurde dadurch schrittweise genährt. Später erweiterte ich mein Wissen in Innenarchitektur und Landschaftsdesign und tauchte in die Welt der digitalen Kunst ein. Mein unstillbarer Hunger nach Wissen führte mich dazu, Sprachzertifikate in Englisch und Deutsch zu erwerben, um meine künstlerische Reise auch in fremden Ländern fortsetzen zu können.

Neues Kapitel in Deutschland:

Deutschland wurde zu meiner neuen Heimat. Seit 2014 lebe ich mit Stolz in Köln und erlangte 2018 die deutsche Staatsangehörigkeit. Hier suchte ich die Freiheit und Selbstbestimmung, um meine künstlerischen Visionen zu verwirklichen.

Herausforderungen und Überwindung:

Eine bisher unbekannte Krankheit stellte meine Welt auf den Kopf, brachte Schmerzen und Unsicherheiten mit sich und erforderte zahlreiche Arztbesuche sowie mehrere operative Eingriffe. Doch die Kunst war meine Rettung und Zuflucht, auch in den dunkelsten Zeiten. Im Jahr 2020 begann ich mit Alkoholtinten zu experimentieren, was mir neue Hoffnung gab. Anfang 2022 erhielt ich schließlich die Diagnose einer Autoimmunerkrankung, und eine neue Therapie ermöglichte es mir, Anfang 2023 schmerzfrei zu leben.

Gegenwärtige Unternehmungen:

Heute betreibe ich eine kleine Manufaktur, in der ich handgemachte Aquarellfarben herstelle und vertreibe. Diese Kunsthandwerk unter dem eingetragenen Markennamen VHaquarell ist meine Lebensader und inspiriert mich täglich. Darüber hinaus teilte ich mein Wissen als Dozentin für kreative Kurse an Volkshochschulen über drei Jahre.

Inspiration und Hoffnung:

Meine Geschichte ist ein Zeugnis dafür, dass Hoffnung und Entschlossenheit selbst in den dunkelsten Momenten überwiegen können. Meine Kunst und meine Erfahrungen sollen anderen als Quelle der Inspiration dienen. Möge meine Geschichte ein Echo der Hoffnung und Stärke sein, und möge sie all jene erreichen, die an ihre Träume glauben.
